Official website
Where to find it
Windsor Castle is managed by the Royal Collection Trust, the charitable arm of the Royal Household that cares for the Royal Collection of art and the occupied royal palaces. Its official website is rct.uk/visit/windsor-castle. The site is the source of truth for opening hours, current closures for state events, the multimedia guide, accessibility services and academic enquiries.
What the official site offers
A searchable online collection of every painting, drawing, piece of furniture and item of regalia in the Royal Collection — more than a million entries, often in zoomable detail. Calendars of upcoming closures for state visits and the Order of the Garter Service in June. Education programmes for schools and families. The 1-Year Pass conversion (sign and date your day ticket before leaving for 12 months of unlimited free re-entry). Press, research and image-licensing enquiries.
How this site differs
This site exists to make booking faster, in more languages and with flexible cancellation up to 24 hours before your slot — useful given Windsor's short-notice closures for state events. Tickets here include the same castle admission as those bought direct from RCT. For institutional questions, the 1-Year Pass, or research access, use the official site.
